V32 Points Races

The points races for 2012 have been completed.  Three points separated first and second while nineteen points separated second and third. Congratulations to the winners.

Points Race 1, February 26

The inaugural V32 event for the year attracted nine skippers. The breeze was somewhat variable but decent most of the day. We got in all twelve races with Pete Kruse, Bob Schumacher and Bert Hawkins, respectively, taking the top three spots.

Thanks to Race Director Erwin deRoggenbuke for conducting the event and having an error free score sheet.

Points Race 2, April 29

A good turnout with twelve skippers showing up to compete. Problems of one sort or another, however, resulted in eleven boats and often fewer being in any given race. Winds were tricky and offered significant challenges on making it to the first mark and from the last mark to the finish. Congratulations to Don Frakes, Pete Kruse and Louis Alvarez for their first, second and third place finishes, respectively.

Points Race 3, June 24

A good day but a fairly light turnout. Once again, winds were tricky and offered significant challenges on making it to the first mark and from the last mark to the finish. It was great seeing John Wencel who recently joined the club and Chris Hansen, a long time member, among the competitors.

Congratulations to Don Frakes, Bill Ostic and Glenn Krumbine for their first, second and third place finishes for the day and thanks to Pete Kruse for conducting the event.

Points Race 4, August 26

Eight skippers showed up today to challenge the winds. Shoe, Don Frakes and Tony Torr wound up with the bragging rights for the day finishing first, second and third, respectively.

Points Race 5, October 28
